Unananna and the Enormous One-Tusked Elephant

Unanana and the Enormous One-tusked Elephant is a traditional Zulu folktale from East Africa, yet the themes within it are strikingly relevant today. It is a story of Love and Loss, of Adventure, Passion and Determination, of Wounding and Healing, and ultimately of the irrepressible Power of a Mother’s Love. Unanana, against her neighbor’s advice, stubbornly builds her house upon the animal’s road. This decision sets in motion a spirited set of events that lead us to the Belly of the Beast. Unanana and the Enormous One-tusked Elephant is brought to life through creative narration, drumming, music, song, hand-made carved masks, life-sized puppets and shadow puppetry. Remember to bring somebody you love, so you can hold their hand! (it can be a bit scary at times…)
